Hunter Education Traditional Course
Three-day Course:
Friday, August 14, 2026: 6-10pm and
Saturday, August 15, 2026: 8:30am-4:30pm and
Sunday, August 16, 2026: 1pm through completion
Must be present all three days.

The KSDS Administration building is adjacent to the KSDS East Training Building at the corner of Highway 36/7th Street and D Street.

The course consists of subjects covering hunter responsibility, ethics, fair chase, history of firearms, firearms basics, ammunition, basic gun safety, field safety, bowhunting, conservation and wildlife management, wildlife of Kansas, outdoor emergencies, Kansas hunting regulations and boating safety for hunters.
Where possible, students may live fire and/or go through simulated hunting conditions.
