SUMMARY:Free Park Entry & Guided Off Trail Hike - Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park
DESCRIPTION:
Guided Off‑Trail Hikes at Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park

Join the park naturalist for an off‑trail adventure through the unique Niobrara chalk formations of Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park. Expect rough, uneven terrain, including grass, brush, and loose footing. Wear sturdy, closed‑toe footwear. Bring water, a snack, binoculars, and a hiking stick. Please do not underestimate the terrain. This is an intermediate‑level hike at a moderate pace, with stops for learning, questions, and photos.

We begin at the Ramada Overlook and head into the canyon bottoms to explore the formations’ nooks, crannies, and spires. Along the way, we discuss grasses, forbs, mammals, reptiles, insects, geology, and other natural features. There is no set path, so each hike is a unique experience.

Space on guided hikes is limited, and reservations are required.
