 There is a one-time specialty plate application fee of $40  plus an annual specialty plate fee of $50 which makes the total for the first year $90. The annual $50 specialty plate fee  breaks down into a $35 tax-deductible donation supporting KDWP conservation efforts and $15 for your annual state park vehicle permit.  This annual donation goes a long way in preserving our state's rich natural heritage, ensuring that future generations can enjoy the same scenic beauty and outdoor adventures that we cherish today.

How To Get Yours

Go to your local County Treasurer’s office as you normally do to renew your vehicle tags. While you are there, let them know you are switching to a new Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks distinctive license plate.

You will be required to surrender your current tag and you will be issued a temporary tag. Your new plate will be mailed to you by the State of Kansas within a few weeks.
