Hunter Education is a long-standing public education program of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. This course includes training in hunter responsibility, ethics, history of fi rearms, fi rearm basics and more. Instructors will demonstrate safe fi rearms handling. No ammunition allowed! If you are already certified in Hunter Education by another state, you do not need to take this class, but you must provide proof if required. Additionally, it is essential to attend all sessions of the class in their entirety. All students will receive a Kansas Hunter Education manual. Participants are required to read the entire manual and answer all the review questions. Upon completing and passing the course test, a certificate will be issued.
Hunter Education instructors from the Gardner Police Department and the local area will lead the course. Parents who are already certified are welcome to take the class as well; just be sure to inform the instructors of your certification. Lunch will be provided on Saturday, along with snacks, unless you have concerns about food allergies.
