This full-time, unclassified Administrative Specialist position provides support to the Fisheries, Wildlife & Public Lands Divisions at the Pratt Operations Office, and is supervised by the Senior Administrative Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Provides program coordination and administrative support for the Fisheries, Wildlife and Public Land divisions and is vital to the successful operation of the Fisheries, Wildlife and Public Land divisions to maintain lines of communication within the divisions and agency as well as with other agencies, sportsmen, landowners, news media, and the general public.

Responsible for performing administrative duties associated with the Fisheries, Wildlife and Public Lands divisions.

Coordinates purchasing, general expense payments, and contracts processing/maintenance.

Assists with coordinating the Division’s permitting processes, interpreting rules, regulations and procedures for the Department’s wildlife rehabilitation, and nuisance wildlife damage control.

Assists with the Access Program Coordinators with the coordination and program oversight of WIHA, WIFA, CFAP and Habitat First, assisting with contract processing, maintenance, and payment processing.

Helps with the county Banker’s Award wildlife habitat recognition program; and will directly assist the Public Lands division director with responsibilities related to public lands programs and administration.

Interacts daily with the general public, sportsmen, landowners, and news media, responding to inquiries and requests through direct contact, telephone calls, e-mail, or referral to the appropriate office or field staff.

Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to relieve superiors of administrative detail by working independently is expected of this position.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Two years of experience in general office, clerical and administrative support work.

Two years computer experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.

Accounting experience and web-based computer application experience are preferred.

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.
