Crawford State Park
Beginning July 13, 2026, all traffic going to and from Crawford State Park will need to come from the south through Girard. K-7 north of 710th will be restricted to local traffic only. Signs will be posted before the 710th intersection, and the intersection will only be open to traffic coming from the south. The full road closure will begin farther north at Cavalry and continue to US-69. Traffic will not be allowed through the K-39 intersection.
Later this summer, the section of K-7 from K-39 to US-69 is expected to reopen in August. However, K-7 south of K-39 to 710th will remain closed through the summer of 2027. During that time, park traffic will still need to use the detour through Girard.
The 500-acre park features six campgrounds. There are 28 primitive sites, 38 electric only sites, 25 fifty-amp/water sites, and 20 30amp/ water sites. All of the campsites have a spectacular view of the lake.
The majority of the park's campsites can be reserved.
Lakeview Group Use area has 10 electric sites and is located at the south end of the lake. It is ideal for family reunions, club campouts, and other group activities.
Crawford State Park offers five lakefront rental cabins with all the comforts of home in a beautiful lake setting. The cabins are by available by reservation and are open year round.
For your convenience there are two boat ramps, three bathhouses, courtesy docks, and a dump station. Four hiking and biking trails, and a swimming beach offer more recreational opportunities in addition to camping, fishing and boating. Limited food and convenience items and delicious meals are available at the marina restaurant Friday breakfast through Sunday. In the summer months there is campground programming for all to enjoy. Anglers enjoy excellent fishing for channel catfish, crappie, and striped bass.
Pleasure boating, skiing, and swimming are among favorite recreational pursuits.
Located on the edge of the Ozarks, Crawford State Park provides a variety of landscapes seen in Kansas state parks. Redbud trees offer spectacular beauty in the spring along with a wide variety of colorful wildflowers, birds, and butterflies. The lush foliage of the surrounding forest is a naturalist’s delight.
Bowfishing, trotlines, setlines, and floatlines are prohibited.

- Go 4.5 mi turn onto KS-7 toward GIRARD/CHANUTE
- Go 13.0 mi to Crawford State Park Sign US Hwy 277
KS-7 north from Girard
- Go 9 miles north to Hwy 277
- Turn right (east) on 277. This goes into the park
